Grasshopper Tennis

WALT: improve our small ball skills like throwing, catching, and hitting





Description:

We were doing that to work on our tennis skills. We did the success criteria and we watched our buddy and gave them green, orange or red. I learnt what temple hit means.

Evaluation:
What are you most proud of and why?
I reckon I did the best at patting the dog because I didn't muck up as much as the others
What challenged you the most and Why?
The racetrack because my ball kept falling of the racket
Next time, what is a goal you can work towards?
To get all of my success criteria green. I need to work on racetracks and slice the cheese

Insulation

WALT: Inform

INSULATION



Insulation keeps your body warm, it can also keep you safe like a plastic layer over a wire that keeps you safe by not getting eletricuted. It can also keep your house warm. It keeps your house warm with pink batts. Pink batts trap heat and keeps the warmth in. It is the same with a puffer jacket. Puffer jackets have feathers that can be warm even what it is cold. Like your house. 

A house keeps warm from the insulation in the walls. It has pink batts which are made of fibreglass. Fibreglass is basically putting a puffer jacket over your house.

Puffer jackets are made of feathers. Feathers are good insulation because for example: Ducks can be warm even when it is a very cold day. So feathers are good insulation.

A wire that has a plastic layer over top of the metal is because touched the wire you will get eletricuted. So they put a plastic layer to keep us safe.

Spelling Activity

WALT: - Sentences: Find the meaning of the words in your spelling list if they are unknown to you and put them in a complete sentence. (not a short sentence or incomplete sentence)

Description:

This week our spelling activity was to make a full sentence of what our spelling words mean.

Evaluation:

I reckon that I could of added a bit more depth into my sentences, so I give myself a 7/10

I think I could of thought of a few more to put on my page

Integrity Video


WALT: communicate a message with others.
WALT: show integrity.


DESCRIPTION: We have been learning about integrity.  We want to share our understanding with others.

What? Make a Puppet Pal to show our understanding of integrity.
Why? To show what we know about integrity, to share during our Student Led Conference.
When? Term 2, Week 1 - 7
Who? The World



EVALUATION:
WALT: communicate a message with others.
Create a story board showing the beginning, middle and end of our message. I think our group did well at creating a storyboard showing the beginning, middle and end.
Use Puppet Pals as a tool to share our message. I think our group shtruggled using puppet pals because we had to keep restarting
Keep our audience engaged. I think we could of used expressions and made it more exciting

WALT: show integrity.
Everyone in our group has contributed evenly. I think we did well at making everyone contribute evenly
Integrity is the main theme of our message. I think we did half and half because we did half integrity and half Kotahitanga.

We have been learning about science and we had to create a video about our understanding of science.

I think I could of made what kinetic and potential mean a bit more clear.

I like the visual way you have explained kinetic and potential energy.  I would like more information to explain potential energy to check I understand it properly eg does a pen lying on the ground have potential energy?

Literacy Sample

WALT: Rote Learn

Description:

Purpose: We have been working on Mnemonics to learn our spelling words. That helps us with our weekly spelling words.

Process: We had to use Mnemonic to help us learn our spelling words. We had an example then we went away and had a go our selves. We learnt how to do the Mnemonics. You have to use your spelling words to create a sentence with the start of each letter.

Learning: I learnt how Mnemonics work and how to do them. I have learnt a new strategy for my spelling words.



Evaluation: I reckon I did well at thinking of a good sentence for my spelling word. I could of made the image a bit more clear.
